(Snow Goose) Bosque de Apache, New Mexico

Continuing my series of images from my two weeks at Bosque. The afternoons are almost always dedicated to snow geese.

This is the fiftieth post of the series. The time is now 4:39 pm.

I thought a golden light shot would be appropriate for my golden post of the series. Taken by the farm deck on a time when the sun and wind were cooperating and the birds were plentiful. :)

Tripod/Wimberley mounted Nikon D2H, 600mm AFS, ISO 320, Manual, 1/1250 @ F5.6, SB80DX, BB, FP. Cropped about 10% from the height and made 5:4.

Love these shots -- excellent. I like the off angle or should I say angle of the Snow Goose.

This is awesome, Tony!
Love the golden light and bg. Could do with a bit more sharpening IMHO ...

Tony,
I have a lot of snow geese from last Dec in Bosque but nothing that compares with this lovely photo in golden light. Congrats!

The light on the golden BG provides just the right amount of contrast for the scene. Great wing position.

Hold on one darn minute, Tony. I think I remember this goose from earlier in the day.

Sandy, that's what Bosque is all about. The same goose keeps circling and landing all day long, over and over again. That's why we go. But I'm still not sure why this goose puts up with all the hassle from the photographers.
