This photographer is unquestionably an amateur whose initial experiences consisted of family and travel photography over a span of some twenty-five years. My interest in nature photography was piqued by two weeks in Kenya in 1993. Subsequently I purchased more equipment to support my Canon 35 mm slide cameras and in 1997 the fever seemed to increase. My transition to digital began in 2003 and has evolved to date. My interests center largely on birds and other animals and I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel not only within the United States but to sites such as the Galapagos, Costa Rica, Panama, Bonaire, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, and, most recently, Botswana, Churchill, Midway Atoll, and Antarctica.
From a personal standpoint I am a retired physician who resides in west central Wisconsin with my wife and my dog. We have been blessed with four grown children and six grandchildren whom I hope to interest in nature photography in the forthcoming years.
