American Oystercatcher
haematopus palliates


One of the first images taken during my trip to Puerto Rico to spend the holidays with my mom. This was taken in Isabela on the north west side of the island.

wow! I just love this, especially that eye. Oystercatchers are really cool birds. If I had to find a complaint, it would be that the highlights are a bit hot on the leg and shoulder. With the detail you have in the black on this bird I'll take it thought. Great shot

Juan, this is my favorite post of yours to date. This is just wonderful. I love the mossy rocks and blue sky. It really pops the bird.

The red is not the biggest color in the frame, but the most noticeable, so it works fine for the motif.

Wow! A very impressive photo. The BG is perfect, the bird is looking at you, you got nice details on the blacks and on the whites, the composition and the framing are right on the spot, the eye, the mossy rocks (I am no expert, just got excited). Congratulations!
Only one question. Have you ever posted in this forum the San Pedrito (Puerto Rican Tody) of your avatar? I would like to see it, and I'm sure the others too.

Love the white legs and bright beak. Certainly a full frame image and nice pose.
