Canon 10D 600 f7.1 1/1000 ISO 400 No flash, Tripod

This is from the December Duckshop with EJ Peiker, a tremendous opportunity to learn and to have fun photographing tons of ducks at close range. Everybody was laughing when they saw me carrying more than 60 lbs of photo equipment, but being able to have all my lenses multiplied the opportunities especially the head shots with the big guns. Thanks for looking, all comments appreciated.

This is very nice Juan. As someone who has seen all of your gear that you carry around in that truck of yours, I laughed when I read your note that accompanied this picture. It just brought back memories from Roma of all of the plants and various other things you had in there. I think you could have built a house had you wanted to, but man alot of that came in handy, and obviously the 600mm did this time too. Well shot.

Everything Chris said! A touch of fill would have opened the shadows on this but then maybe it is more dramatic as it is. I like it!

This is certainly a beauty and I like the way your watermark is embedded with a light touch but yet, very clearly your copyright.

Juan,
A very fine image of a beautiful duck. Photographing ducks is a real hoot (owls too) and you've done a great job with this one. I, for one, find the watermarks distracting.

A very nice portrait, Juan. The drop of water on the tip of the bill really adds to it. Sweet light.
