I've become fascinated with redheaded ducks and cinnamon teals. This redhead was taken in a small city park in Denver...

Nikon D2H, 200-400 f4, 1.4TC, ISO 400, 1/320 sec, f5.6, 550mm effective focal length.

I love the pose and the moodiness of the lighting. The head is like it's in a spotlight. I think it could use a bit of cw rotation.

Nice image Bob. I like the preening pose. Some may prefer more even lighting but I like the spotlight effect here. I would crop some space from the left and it looks a little tilted.

I like the pose and the lighting, as it falls on the head and illuminates the eye. I agree with the crop and it does appear to need some clockwise rotation.

The spotlighting adds to this one. Nice preening image.

Hi Bob, I too like the 'spotlight' on the head. Where were these guys when I was there?

I do have a serious question for the others that posted here. A number of people mention the image needs a CW rotation. I don't see this, as there is no horizon line. Why do you all agree on this point? Am I missing something?

The only thing I can figure is you are seeing the waterline on the bird as being off. It appears to me that the bird is turned slight towards us and I fear a CW rotation would lessen the strong diagonal water lines running through the BG. Just curious.
