St. Augustine GF, FL

I was fortunate to able to photograph one of the few cattle egrets present at the GF in breeding plumage last week. The next few weeks will see the rookery come into full swing, with the now hundreds of birds coming into roost at dusk, and the snowy's and tri-colors starting to build nests.

See you there in mid-May.

1D, 600IS
exposure- 1/500 @ f/4

Best and see you in the field,

Chas

Great image Chas..... I have done a lot of shooting at the farm and did not believed possible to get a very (VERY) pleasing background with all the clutter. This is wonderful.

I always try for the clean looking background but this really works. Can't wait to go back this year. Images like this make me work harder and improve my photography. Thanks Chas.

Chas, great plumage with a beautiful BG. The f4 setting really helps with the busy BG. nice work.

I would suggest trimming this image 26.5 pixels on the left and 7.6 pixels from the top, just to reach the Newtonian Orbital balance of objects in space, to properly counterbalance the weak force against the strong force, or in layman terms to keep in check the opposing forces in compliance with the principles of Quantum Mechanics!!
Otherwise not a bad image!!! 8) 8) 8)
