Nice image -- any use of Fill Flash in this ? Slight shadow but you got the eye in the sun with a pleasing catchlight.

A nice photo with dappled light. I like the clean BG and the pose of the bird.he crest up is a plus.

David, just a gentle reminder to keep the posts to max 650 pixels on the longest side. Thanks. :)

Interesting leaning pose. I see why you cropped to a square. The detail looks excellent. :)

Yes I did use fillflash, I used a 550ex, BB, -1.

I missed that in the file info.

I really like the curious stare and the raised crest in this image. I think female cardinals are very beautiful!

This is a really sharp cardinal image. I like the females more subtle colors.

Beautiful quality to this image. I would place the bird a little further to the right, however.

This is excellent!! I love the "Old Masters" canvas background. ;)
I find the female cardinals to be more interesting than the males. Great work. :D

David:

I love the diagonal perch with the lichens, at f11 may have all the tail sharp but then the background may have not been so nice, Congratulations.
