This guy looks almost like a cartoon character.

Lovely shot. Perhaps a drop more room below for the virtual legs/feet. This might look nice as a vertical, too.

The water color is an awesome background for this bird. I think it's a Black-necked stilt though.

Great background color. There seems to be a bit of a sharpening halo especially around the bill.

I would try this as a vertical. I agree with Sandy on more room at the bottom.

The color of the water is fantastic, these birds are hard to expose properly, here I would like to see more detail on the whites of the neck and on the blacks of the body.

Nice and sharp, and like others have said the background is great. The eye is good, and the basic exposure is nice. See if a bit of s/h tool can bring out a little more detail on the body.

An elegant bird from just about any angle. I really love these birds and I like your image. I do think recovering some detail in the dark areas on the back would help and cropping to a vertical with more room for the feet would be great. Love those red legs.

Great shot and I agree with the previous NITs. Was it possible to do a vertical and get a full reflection in the frame?

Yes, a bit more room at the bottom, other than that; a superb image.

Thanks for all the great advice. Unfortunately, I had to frame the shot with little room on the bottom, because the little guy was standing very close to some bushes. Unfortunately - there is no more room on the bottom

If anyone could give me a little advice on how to draw out the detail, I woudl appreciate it.

thanks
