I am a photographer based in Calgary, Alberta. While I remain active consulting for clients in the information technology field, some years ago I rekindled my interest in the outdoors as a birder. Experiencing the world of nature and living things has been a valuable way to achieve a better life balance.
I was introduced to photography at a young age by my grandfather, and took it up again with the advent of high quality digital cameras. Initially drawn to photograph birds and wildlife through my birding experiences, landscape work has been my main focus since 2006. I love exploring the rich array of photographic opportunities in my home region, ranging from the Canadian Rockies and southern Alberta badlands to the wide open prairies. I also enjoy photographing other parts of the world including England and the American Southwest.
I am an accredited member of the Professional Photographers of Canada, and a juried member of the Alberta Society of Artists. I am a member of the editorial team here at NatureScapes.Net. I also contribute in the NSN forums covering photography, digital and printing topics, and post in the image critique galleries. I write on photography topics for NSN and other online media, as well as print publications.
