Nice Jimmy. It was a great day but cold! My images are still on the laptop!

BTW there is a pretty serious halo around the bird, especially the wings. What's that about?

Great shot, but I too, see a big honkin' halo - especially around the upper wing!

cheers, Oliver

Nice flight shot Jimmy, the halo appears to be from a clarifying filter.

Nice shot and great that you got this for your efforts out there at the end of the jetty. I wonder what is causing the halo? Maybe you could run us through what you are doing to the image.

It sure was a surprise and a special treat to see this guy. Its a nice shot but concur with the halo. It looks like you tried to darken the sky but feathered it too much.

Nice one -- I don't see the halo mentioned.
I like how he/she seems to be eyeing you.

E.J. I did nothing to this image but convert it and adjust the levels a little the halo is in the original the same thing happened with my light house images.

Jimmy -

Good job getting this at a place away from a breeding colony. I've been to Barnegat dozens of times without ever seeing one.
