Heather Forcier’s interest in nature began with pencil sketches of wildlife and outdoor activities enjoyed throughout her youth in Vermont. Her first camera was a Nikon F5 but she later transitioned to digital, and now uses a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and 1D Mark II N.
Heather photographs nature subjects throughout North America with a current emphasis on avian subjects. Her work has been published by nationally distributed magazines, internet webzines and has been sold for a variety of uses, including a trade show booth panel, custom wedding invitations, and product catalogs. Her work is currently displayed and sold as prints at several retail stores. Publication credits include National Geographic Traveler, the ABA's Birding magazine, WildBird magazine, Birder's World magazine, National Audubon Society's Audubon Magazine, and numerous publications through the Associated Press.
Her role as Editor in Chief at the nature photography webzine NatureScapes.Net combines photography with her enthusiasm for writing plus an intense interest in graphic design. As one of the site operators, she coordinates editorial content, designs and updates web pages, and manages membership and the NatureScapes.Net store.
