During the Duckshop there was a tendency on my part to go for the ducks that I had never had the opportunity to photograph. But the old standby showed up and was impossible to ignore.
Canon 10D, Canon 400/2.8 + 1.4 TC; ISO 400, 1/100 @ f 8; flash off. Cropped 15% on right, 5% on top. Two small bright spots cloned out.
Any and all comments, reposts welcome.

This is gorgeous - I love close-ups and his irridescence gleams perfectly in the light. Lovely! I also love the eye level here.

The tip of the bill is a tad soft, but otherwise a very nice shot. In the right light, these 'old standby's' really shine.

Nice shot. The bill does seem a tad soft and the image a tad bright. Otherwise a nice shot.

Maybe a tad soft....but oh did you get the irridescence on his head. It seems so easy and yet just a slight turn and it's gone. Very nice...you know I love the mallards.
