Bald Eagle - Homer, Alaska, USA
EOS 10D, 300mm, 1.4x, 1/30, f/9, Flash @ -1/3, ISO 400 Early in the day on the first morning of shooting in Homer I tripped the shutter with the wrong exposure settings in the camera and got an interesting effect where the yellow of the bill and the eyes were exposed well but the snow and Eagle head completely merged. So then I did this intentionally to get a better composition. This was all done in camera with only a levels adjustment in Photoshop to increase the contrast of the bill and eyes. E.J.
