I like this allot the bird really makes the image I think if you pump up the saturation it will really pop off the page.

I like this, It took me a second to find the bird. It gives me a feeling of how big the sea actually is. This is really cool. Thanks

Good eye, Geo. The line of bluish wave peaks makes this image. I might have liked the bird at the bottom-third line of the image. It's great to see something new, Geo, and this fits the bill. Very nice work.

George,

This is very well done. The water patterns are great. I like how you included the horizon in the top of the frame.

Very cool shot. I liked it a lot even before I found the bird in it. All the water sure makes the bird seem small and insignificant. I too would like to see a little more contrast. This should look really cool blown up for your wall.

It took me a little while to take in the scale of this image, but now I'm there I really like this. Certainly very different to most avian images we see here. I'm sure it'll look even better as a large print, too.

Geo, A good effort!
For a long second it took me to spot the pin-sized bird ... Well, to be honest it doesn't work for me. The key subject, the 'Northern Fulmar', of this image is 'lost' somehow ...

I like the image, but not as a picture of a bird. I doubt many could ID the bird from this image. But I love the effect of the water, and the fact there is a bird makes it nicer. I agree with those who suggested punching up the curves or contrast or something.

Geo,

I haven't read all the other posts, but here's what I think of it

I really like it, but I'm not sure about the clouds on the top of this frame. I was thinking about a 3:4 frame. Or even 1:1 square. You'd loose the band of clouds with the 3:4. With the 1:1 you'd also loose the waves that don't fit the pattern. I think I like the square the most. BUT I'm not an expert, and so be it.

I also am a bit confused about the dimensions. I'm kinda lost. (this also makes the shot so interesting) I know the size of a fulmar. But I have troubles scaling the waves to it. With a 70-200 lens... How big are these waves??

Cheers

Peter

I love this as an ocean scape - probably a better fit in the Landscape Forum but a very nice photo.

Yup Darth, 101 % sure :P

It looks like a Northern Fulmar at that mag. I thinks it's just that I'm so used to seeing these birds soaring straight winged all the time it seems odd seeing one with its wings in a V actually 'flapping'.

I've had a long day and when I first opened this I thought "Where's the bird?" Well, it's there and this is an awesome shot. Unlike anything I've seen....refreshingly different and creative. Excellent!!!

I love the artistry of this, how the bird is following the line of blue peaks. A wonderful environmental shot, and creative. I like it!
