Love it, Chris. I especially like the background. The only thing I'm not sure about is the white on the head. Not sure that they are blown per say but they seem a bit hot on my laptop (could just be my monitor) and thus a bit of a distraction. I wonder if a little s/h would be the answer there? Just a thought. Great work in any event. I keep trying for these guys and have had limited success and lots of frustration so far. :D :)

This is sweet Chris. The only thing that would improve it would be a slight head turn to get eye contact.

Beautiful Chris, I agree about the slight more head turn. The pose is incredible the distance between the two feet is amazing. :)

Love the tree, the warm background, and the pose. With those legs braced, the nuthatch looks ready to launch! Great detail in the plumage, so nice work on the fill. Nits already mentioned re: head turn and slightly hot looking white patch just above the eye. But on the plus side you captured detail and the gloss on the black crown feathers that isn't often seen. In all, a great image!

Chris
The classic nuthatch pose with great detail. What I like even more than the bird is that BG.....those rich golden colors are beautiful.
