This is a wild bird. They are very common in Sydney and I was hoping to get a decent flight shot showing all its colors for a long time.

I guess it is obvious why it got the name: Rainbow Lorikeet...

Cool Shot KK. Amazing color and talk about being a tough subject on in camera Automatic White balance. How did you handle it? Do you adjust in RAW?

Ofer, I've seen many of your 'portraits' of this Lorikeet. This is great! :)

Result! This is great -- crisp, clean and obviously showing off the rainbow coloring extremely well. Good eye contact and the wing blur add to the composition. Very nice!

Utterly spectacular, Ofer. The light, pose, camera angle, and stunning colors all make this one in its own league.

Beautiful shot. Gotta love Lori's. They are all amazingly colorful, and the Rainbow Lori is well over the top :)

Ofer:

Sincere congratulations for this great accomplishment, this is the first Rainbow Loriket that I have seen captured in flight, the blurred background add so much for a very dynamic flavor. My only minor suggestion is since the bird naturally had such as saturated colors, maybe desaturating the sky a little will not compete with the bird beauty. Again this is only minor. This capture is a testament to your full commitment to bird photography and augurates may more successes, I just was thinking how about if you try to do a pan blur of one of these lorikets ( a la Franz Lanting in the book "jungles" ) I bet you sell that very well.
