I have seen quite a few times WBSE in the wild, but I have never been so up-close and "personal". This bird-of-prey is so magificant I could not simply put my finger off the shutter. Jim Ades Raptor Sanctuary in KFBG keeps a number of raptors which are either wounded or lost ability to survive in the wild. KFBG opens throughout the year free to public.

Thanks for viewing.

What an incredible bird and exposure looks great. Very sharp.. I think if the head was a little lower in the frame and to the right it would be an even stronger image then it stands.. nice work!

The shadow casted by the cage wire is a distraction here. Woudn't it be better if you do away with the 2x and instead place you lens upfront close to the cage?!

A good shot nonetheless, Griffin!

Griff

The shadows from the bars on the cage do distract from this beautiful bird. The point of the bill is lost in the black BG, Its sharp and well exposed and your right, Its a magnificant bird.

A very majestic looking eagle. The intense look is captivating. I wish for a little more separation between the tip of the beak and the background.

A very nice portrait!!

Very nice. I too would like the tip of the bill a little more visible, but this is still a good shot!

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, I think KK may be right, it may be better if I get closer. However, the foreground wire is not seen at the distance. However, the shadow was casted by the harsh 1000 sunlight from above. :(

Here is another one, which is not chosen for I think it should be in portrait:

A magnificent looking bird. The image is a bit dark for my taste, but can be lightened up using levels (mid-tones) or curves. I like the second post as well except for the prominent shadows of the bill and what I assume is the cage bars. I find the contrast between the very dark background and the well lit bird kind of neat.

I like them both although the portrait has more impact. Tough conditions to photograph under.
