Took this the other day, and it was really not a nice day, cloudy and raining. I got this shot, and realy liked it, but it was just to white, so I added some lighting effects. Let me know what you think. Good bad, or should I remove the effect.

Shutter speed: 1/250 sec
Aperture: 5.6
Exposure mode: Av
Flash: On
Metering mode: Multi-segment
ISO: 400
Focal length: 400mm

Pat, I would remove the effect, I find it very distracting from what looks like a very good shot of a Loggerhead Shrike.

Thanks Alan, I think you are right. I'm looking at with and without. The loggerhead does stand out better without it, plus the lighting effect removes some details

Intersting effect you've achieved, Pat!
Just a bit more room at bottom might work better ...

Nice Shrike shot. Definite no-go on the lighting effect.

Phurd:

Is hard to photograph a gray bird against a bright background, I believe you dis your best considering the situation.
