Red-bellied Woodpecker

This bird was way up high and every photo except this one was so steep, it got deleted. But as the woodpecker circled the top, this angle looked good!

Aside from what Sandy has mentioned, I have no nits on this. I like the head down position and the lifted feathers on the top of the head.

Very nice subject and body position. The photo is just a bit on the contrasty side.

I agree with Sandy on touching up the hotspot of the broken branch. I like the unusual pose and the exposure for the woodpecker is on the money.
