I love mallards, esp females. There's just something about them that's so sweet, might be their smile :)

This is a great shot, the light is gorgeous with a nice reflection. Great job.

Very nice, Lat.

The light on this is special, and handled well.

All good technicals and balance down to the catchlight. Wish the bird were facing the camera a bit more but stands well nevertheless.

Female mallards seem to look especially nice in warm light like this. This is very nice. :)

Gorgeous light!!! I agree with Bill - early/late light is especially attractive on female Mallards.

A fine image! Wonderful light on this pretty lady. It looks to be slightly tilted (easy to fix).

Don't care if she isn't turned in my direction cause this is one nice shot -- awesome light.

How come on some famale mallards there is blue in the midsection towards the back?

There is blue in that area, but, it depends on how they fold their wings sometimes. I wish the blue showed in this case as it would go well with the water.

In reply to the other posts, wishing her head was turned. I was tracking her with A1 Servo for quite a while as she swam from my left to the right. I released the shutter as the sun made the browns glow. BTW she was looking at me all the time, out of the corner of her eye

There is nothing more beautiful than a female mallard in the sweet light. She is a beauty. Wonderfully sharp and gorgeous water as well. I know....it would be nice for her in the other direction but I know exactly what you mean about getting the right angle for the colors to pop. You did great with her!!

Wonderful light and complmentary colors here, Lat -- I love the gold against the dark blue. Great sharpness and composition as well. Only nit from me might be to see if you have one in your series with a cleaner head reflection.

Very nice shot, Morning and evening light I find the best for pic's like this. A certain glow on any waterfowl makes it more than a beautiful to capture. Hats off to you Lat :D
