Dear Friends:

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to our new site!

Those of us involved in the creation of this site have worked many long hours to bring it to reality. I personally want to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved for their time and effort. A great deal of the workload has been done by Heather Forcier, the Editor in Chief of the site who has already proven to be a great asset. She has worked day and night alongside others to bring this all together. We simply could not have done it without her.

A lot of work goes into an endeavor such as this and throughout it our Senior Technical Editor E.J. Peiker has provided valuable insight and suggestions. Tom Hill is performing a moderation role and the article he contributed for our inaugural issue is a must-read! Tony Medici is also a site moderator and has helped a great deal in web development. Juli Wilcox, our Contributing Editor, has been a valued and thorough editor for the site content already.

Some friends and early participants also provided some important input. You know who you are - please accept our sincerest thanks!

The site is obviously in its infant stages and there are still a few tweaks to work through - please be patient as we get everything working to our liking. We will continue to improve the site features in the coming days, weeks and months. The site is seen as a constant work in progress and will evolve to the benefit of the participants.

We have implemented an image upload script where members can place images on our server for posting in the image galleries. There is a membership fee to access this service. Other benefits are also a possibility that shall be implemented in the future of the site.

Again, we welcome you all to our site and please feel free to give us your input as it develops!

I too would like to add a personal thanks to the many people who have contributed so much effort to the start up of NatureScapes.Net.

E.J., I wanted to thank you for contributing such a stellar image for the cover shot - no matter how many times I saw it when building up the site I didn't tire of it. It is truly spectacular!

Bob, I have already told Greg I'd like a print of the cover image as a Christmas gift this year! I may have to clear some of our own photos off the wall to put it up, but I can't wait!
