Young Redtail

Another very dark day. Shot at ISO 1000. I find if the photo is exposed well at this ISO, the image seems to have little noise. At least for this type of shot.

Canon 1DII, 500f4, 1.4x, f7.1, ISO 1000, 1/1000 sec, evaluative +2, hand held

It may have been a dark day, but you dealt with it well. The lighting you achieved is perfect, just the kind I usually try for (and miss), great for bringing out maximum detail. And the position of the bird is terrific!

In a high key shot like this, there should be little noise even at extreme ISO, its when you have some darker tones that it can build up pretty fast. The bright areas still ahve a very good signal to noise ratio. Nice shot!
