I'm not sure if this works as the bird walked out of focus and required a lot selective sharpening.

Works for me Steve. I think the most critical parts are sharp. The eye, the bill, and the foot. I like it alot.

It works for me too. This is a different view, one which I like -- down low & head on. Cool capture...

I think that ANY photo of one of these secretive birds is worthy, but this is really great because of the low angle and closeness.

Nice shot! Hard to get these birds out in the open - the head does look a bit soft.

It works for me, good ps work bringing this back. Great shooting angle.

I think this needs a little rotation ?

Steve, this works for me as well. I think though that there are a couple bits of the background that got selectively sharpened with the bird, around the tail and down from there a little bit on either side. I can see a line in the background where it was sharpened and where it was not. The background is slightly busy but with this shot I don't think thats an issue. The step forward is absolutely fantastic, this is a dynamic shot! Congrats :)

Thanks Mike, what you were seeing were Gaussian Blur lines. I corrected them in the post, good catch.

Terrific shot of the Sora but it looks oversaturated to me as presented.

Duh! Not having any luck today. When I corrected the Gaussian blur line, PS accidentally converted the image to ARGB from SRGB. I switched it back.

A truly superb image. The back does look a little sharper than the head, but not so as it looks really off balance. The low angle just is great along with the step forward.
