Ruby-throated Hummingbird Houston, TX

F5, 300, 3X SB28 flashes, Sensia 100.

I haven't done any Hummer stuff since I've gone digital, so I had to go way back to dig up this old scanned image. The old scan is horrible but the slide is still sweet.

This was a setup shot with a painted board for the BG. Sugar water was placed up into the tubes of these flowers and two flashes were used on the bird, and one on the BG.

I believe I still remember the techs on this one. 1/250 @ F22. Flashes @ 1/32 Power.

Alan:

Too bad the scan dos not give justice here, but I like the composition alot, the painted board looks very natural mimicking OOF clouds. Now with digital we all be spoiled.

What stands out here for me is the composition - I love the flowers.

Looks awesome to me mr. Mo. The background is excellent as is the bird. Just goes to show you that you don't always need 5 or 6 flashes!

BTW Congats...;) :)

It might be a scanned image, but is great! Love the matching colors of the feathers with the flowers. This type of coincidences don't happen to me

Good composition, Alan. I like the background and the beautifully delicate flowers make this for me. Scan mentioned!
