Immature peregrine falcon along the CT shoreline.
This bird did a low-pass fly-by past me a couple of weeks ago.

Canon 1Dm2, 600mmf4 w/1.4x at ISO 250.
1/1000th sec. at f7.1, tripod. Small crop.

Amazing detail throughout - the lighting seems nice and even for this shot. I am actually having problems with my eyes (a bit blurry from eye strain) so forgive me if this is off base, but I wonder if the head could be a touch sharper?

Can't believe you got this with the 600 f4 with 1.4x - those birds come through so fast! Really great catch.

Smokin' shot, Paul. It does look like the focus is on the leading edge of the closest wing though.

The head appear ever so slightly soft, but it's a killer shot either way.

A tremendous shot, Paul!
Not a easy job at all for this speedy bird ...

Great catch, I've only seen these birds fly by a couple of times quite close , but have never had a camera with me.
