One of my favorites because I don't have too many images that are of a behavioral nature. I've witnessed pellet regurgitation many times and have managed to get a good look once or twice. I have many "cut-off" heads because I didn't realize how much his body lurched forward and down during the process.

Interesting behavioural shot. Love the tiny little tongue. Well timed.

Other than the fact that this makes me want to throw up, I really like it! :D Great timing and you did well learning from your earlier errors. This is terrific.

Tasty.. Nice to see a behavioral image of this species. Hard enough to get close to and get a clean perch shot unless you're a Murphy.

I didn't even know that kingfishers would have pellets. I guess minnows have undigestable parts also. A great catch. :)

Awesome behavior captured, Steve. I didn't know they had pellets either.

Oh man....I love this one. Of course this is the type of shot that a biologist would love. I've only seen one other shot like this a long time ago. This is just incredible timing!!!

Great shot, Steve. Even though I have been watching kingfishers for a couple of weeks this summer I haven't seen this behaviour.

Excellent capture Steve! :) I guess it is a crop and I would like to see some more room to the right and bottom.
