I have a difficult time with ID between greater and lesser, however, since this example has a longer bill than the width of its head (as measured in other profile images), I'm calling it a Greater Yellowlegs. This morning at the Outer Bay @ Bolsa Chica.

MkII, 500/4 + 2x, Manual Exposure, f8 @ 1/1000, Iso 400.

Thanks for looking...

A fine shot and those yellow legs really stand out well, Vince!
Would probably leave out the partial reflection for a cleaner image ...

Wow, nice G Yellowlegs Vince--you had a productive day at Bolsa. Besides size, Greater Yellowlegs also have a slightly upturned bill (Lesser YL bill looks straighter) and the paler bill color extends to 1/3 of the bill length. Check out George's photo of a Lesser Yellowlegs below for a comparison.

Like Juan noticed, you can see how it got its name in this photo.

Morning Sunlight at the outer bay? I don't believe it!!!
I'm with KK and would go to a horizontal and loose the reflection.
Love the fish :D :D :D

The body forms a nice angle into the image and the morsel makes it even better.
