There are some cardinals on the ranch at this time that there is no boring moment at the blind, when we shot a subject over and over many times plain luck strikes and we end up with a different picture.

I hope you like. All brutal comments are appreciated.

Great timing! Very cool action capture. I like the branches on the bottom but I'm not so sure the ones on the left add to the image, I might look at it with them cropped or removed to see the effect. Pretty minor, though!

I thought the same thing, and I think what bothers me it's that they are not connected to the rest of the tree. Maybe if they were, they would be a nice frame.

Excellent shot Juan. I wouldn't clone any off the left, just crop in a bit for better balance. The sharp head is great.

Very nice timing and sharp head. The oof straight line going up the right of the images through the wingtip is a bit distracting for me.

Comments about the framing aside, I think this is a beautiful photograph. The wing blur and the color and the orientation of the bird create an exceptional image.
Obviously, I really love it.

I think I might crop some off the top to make it more of a square format, but I love your capture. I like images like this that are mostly blurred, but with the most important part of it in focus.

It could be that you applied a bit too much unsharp mask, because many of the edges of the branches and leafs show faint bright edges. If this is true, it might be a good idea to only apply the unsharp mask (or most of it anyways) to the face of the bird. Did you try to add some saturation to the greens to make the background a bit stronger?

Small nits on a very special image!

Cheers,
Arthur Sevestre

Juan,

Very cool shot. Keeping the head sharp was the key to making the image work so well.
