Northern Hawk Owl

Another shot from NE Minnesota last week. We saw up to 12 of these guys each day we were out, but were they down low? NO! This guy was pretty high up but obliged me by bending forward a little to make him look a little closer to my level.

1DII with 600 and 2X TC, ambient metering (ISO 400, f11, 1/640).

Lower would be nice , but you did a fine job with this one !
Nice to have the blue sky :)... all I had when I was there was grey :(

Hi, Bruce,

that's great! Did you try resetting the white balance to 'daylight' in the conversion prgram. That seemed to give me better color than 'auto'. I continue to be totally jealous of the f/8 autofocus!
