Fuji S2 Pro, 1/60 @f6.7, 500mm and 1.7X, ISO 100, fill flash

The subject was moving too fast to switch telecinverters to the 1.4 so I could have included the tail. Vertical crop.

Comments invited.

Thanks,

Hugh

Wow, the colors here are simply on fire! I have never seen one of these birds, glad you posted it. How common are they in that area? Can't argue with the desire for the whole tail, but at least you caught it before it flew off! Looks like a bit of halo around the bill and back that could be removed, or those areas deselected during USM if processing the image again.

There was a pair of Spot Breasted Orioles at Wako until about 3 weeks ago. They normally made a run thru the area most mornings, but were very seldom up long enough for photo purposes. A lot of us in South Florida are hoping for their return!!!!

This is a bird photographers dream to get this species in front of a lens. Too bad on the teleconverter, but the image looks great.

Unbelievable colors. It's a bit tight but at least you got an image of this bird. Nice.
