I am always highly impressed with the quality of photos posted in the Naturescapes forums that I've been hesitant to post someting of my own. But, I guess its time to get my feet wet for the first time.

Could probably have used some fill-flash for a catch-light in the eye, but I forgot to check the batteries, so no flash  . I'm definitely open to some of the insightful advice that this forum seems to offer - always attempting to get better. Thanks.

Here's the image with the suggested improvements. Thanks for the great comments - there is always so much to learn that its great to get help from talented people. Thanks.

The eye looks fine to me. Great first post, really love that open bill. Welcome to NSN!

A very nice first post. A couple of things that might improve it are, cropping the top just below the dark upper right corner, and perhaps clone out the grass that's touching the breast.

Welcome to NSN.

Very animated pose. The fg vegetation is nice but a little distracting, Alan's suggestion to clone out the one touching the bird would definitely improve this. Welcome to NSN, that wasn't so bad was it? :D

I agree with Alan's comments. In addition, I would probably leave a little room at the bottom for the 'virtual' feet. The repost works much better than the first. Nice first post.
