I was out and got shots of this great gray twice before it moved on because of an ice storm.

Background is snowy field. 1D2, 100-400 @ 200, /500 @ 6.3, ISO 400, handheld. Gray day. Cropped all around.

More taken the same day in the Essays Forum.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Yet another nice GG shot, Eleanor!
The head on this one could do with a little more sharpening ...

Cool image, may be able to use some selective sharpening in the face/head area.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I backed off the sharpening, both selective and USM as aritifacts were showing.

Chris, you did a great job of Bill's pine grosbeak. Want to give this one a try and repost?

Love this one! Great pano crop and an intense subject. The grass stems are essential to show how low this one is flying. Wonderful shot!

Very nicely done. The grass sticking through the snow anchors him nicely.
