*EDIT*

Used Blur filter to remove strange pixels issue to the right of the owl.

There are plenty of other places to see Great Grays besides Sax Zim.

This Great Gray had a huge tamarack bog to himself for hunting and was very successful.

Canon 10D(Steve's), Canon 600mm f/4, ISO 200, 1/250 @ f/6.7

Terry

Terry, this is great. Everyone has a different take on vertical comps, but I would move him a bit more right and add a bit more room on top. These great shots get my blood racing as I get ready to go up there.

Love those eyes! Nice capture of a good looking owl. A little too tight on the top for my taste, and I would consider removing the extra branch in the lower left. Other than that, I wish it were my image!

This really gives me the urge to drive north. I like that there is some tone in the sky, but I am seeing some odd pixilation in the sky to the right of the owl.

Great shot, Terry! People are always telling me that my shots are too tight, but I tend to like them that way, at least for web display. I am with the others though, I think it needs a little more room on top. The branch and the closeness to the left edge of the frame don't bother me at all. :)

Nice shot Terry. I agree with you about owls being in other places. The bog has maybe 50 birds give or take and the last estimate I saw for northen MN was 1700 Great Grays!! I found it more rewarding to find them on my own in different areas.

Terry,

This is a very nice shot. The eye contact with the owl is excellent. I like the idea of adding just a little more space on top. Well done.

Hi, Terry,

There's a lot of owl to get in the frame here, so I can understand the tight edges..

this is great!
