This is the mate to the male I posted a few days ago. I hesitated to show this as it is a large crop and the image suffered. However I keep returning to it due to the pose. A little different.

Very interesting capture! It’s a bit noise but otherwise a very nice shot.

Great action, Dan.

I see a lot of noise, probably a combination of the crop and Shadows/Highlights. Noise Ninja or a similar program would help.

The head looks a little soft.

Good work to get this neat shot.

The action is great. To get a kestrel hovering is a major challenge. One eating while hovering is just unheard of. I would select the background, then inverse and use neat image to tone down the noise in the background.

Sometimes the behavior is more important that the technicals and this is one of those times. Nice job

Cool shot! I would add space in front and crop behind. Blurring the BG would help with the noise.

Thanks Jim, Rob and Jim for the suggestions on noise. I'm looking into a noise reduction program.

Chris, she has an insect, what I'm not sure. Oh how I wish I had been closer!
