Decided to take a break from Great Grey's and post a Hawk Owl instead. I have two more Great Grey's in the "queue" per say. This was taken in late afternoon light. This guy would fly back and forth between this perch and the top of a telephone pole. This perch was ideal because my back was to the setting sun, and it was only 5-10 feet above eye level if I was standing on the seat of my car in the moonroof.

Canon Eos20D + 400mm f/5.6L + 1.4x, f/8.0, ISO400, 1/640th.

I'd say this is your best owl posting yet, Chris!

Very sweet, Chris. Relaxed looking bird. Great to get such a close shot and great light too.
