Black Winged Stilt,
1D Mark II, Canon 300 2.8, x2, HH, 1/1250, f-8, iso 400, early morning light

Got this one today.
Cropped from a vertical.

No story, saw a pair, got as close as I could, took 50 shots this is the most decent one... :wink:

fine capture of a very cool species! very exposure of the whites and the blacks; btw, is this the same species as our stilt in western europe or is it a different subspecies?

Ofer,

This is a lovely shot. You handled the exposure well and I like the low angle. The only thing that bothers me is I feel like I'm seeing some lines above and below the rear end of the bird? I don't know if this is from cloning or some sort of anomoly but I would consider blurring them out some.

Gorgeous - well done on a tough exposure. I love seeing this bird, so closely related to one I am familiar with in the US but with subtle, exciting differences. The tail gets a little lost in the darker water but no biggie.
