Just one of the pictures from the rainy weekend at Barnegat of a ruddy turnstone.

Very nice shot - the head turn and open bill is great. Compositionally it would be better with the bird slightly farther to the right in the frame.

I have to get the cropping down for birds - this was not a full frame shot. Thanks for the comments - Barnegat was a blast this year - not as cold as EJ may remember

I like the touch of green in the bottom. The orange legs and open bill are pretty cool too. Agree on the comp suggestions.

Sounds like you could easily crop this one differently as suggested. You did an excellent job with the colors given the weather you had. Very nice image!

Brandon, a great shot but I wish the background was darker. Just a personal preferance as I'm not a fan of high key or images bordering on it. Wonderful details in this bird and the pose with the open bill is great!

Excellent Brandon, the BG is superbly OOF and the FG green is great. I wish the bird weren't centered though.

Low Tide - before you showed up for round #2 - Remember when I was sneeking up to meet you and one of them ran in front of me, right there at low tide is a nice green moss and pebbles :)
