This is my last Kestrel post for this year. All the Kestrel posts are of one family - parents and three youngs who were very cooperative for the last two months... :D
I am getting my Mark II this week and I am going to concentrate on the youngs - improving their hunting skills, while I will try to improve my inflight photography skills...

Very nice image. The colors of the bird and background match nicely. Is this a female, if so are the males more colorful like our American Kestrel?

Hi Rob, this is a very young bird - about two months old. The male are not as beautifuly colored as the American Kestrel but they are very pretty. Hope to post a shot of a male soon... :D

This is great! I am so intrigued by Kestrels...Enjoy the Mark II and flight photography...it's addictive!! I really love my 400/5.6 lens with the Mark II for most of my handheld flight shots...what do you plan on using??

Oh my Ofer, don't tell me about a lens that I DON'T have...I'm sure I'll want it after seeing your upcoming posts even though my husband has put me on the "wagon" when it comes to photography equipment...at least for a while!
