Short-eared Owl ..Incoming

In winter, I tend to shoot a lot of raptors..Rough Legs and Red Tails, and especially Owls when I can find them. Lat year there was a winter roost of Short Ears along one of my usual routes, which hopefully is back again this year.

Canon 10d, 100-400mm, f/5.6, 1/1000sec

Beautiful, Harold. The piercing eyes are the stars of the image. If a bird is coming right at the viewer, there's nothing wrong with a square crop.
