EJ

Great image. THis really shows the winter coat. Does their fur ever come down to conceal the hooves more?

E J,
I'm always amazed at the number of images you managed to capture in a day or two on Mt Evans, in what, early June? Really nice!

Yes this is really nice. Just enough environmental elements, a hint of snow and a killer background. Way to go EJ.. Keep it up you will be swapping Duckman for Goatman caps..

Bob, it was three hours on one afternoon during which we had snow, sun and 30MPH winds. I just really worked the 5 goats in two areas that I had at my disposal :)

Dennis, not sure about the coat. This is the only up-close encounter I've had but I'd guess not since they really scrape that part a lot in their climbing.

Hey EJ,

As usual, all the 'specs' are right on -- but this image stands out to me, and I think it's because of the perspective. Shooting from just below this goat, you've really given him a sense of dominance, both with his position in the frame, and his position on the edge of the mountain. I think that's an element of photography most folks tend to overlook, as they try to shoot 'eye to eye'. This image would not carry near the impact it does if you'd shot at eye leve. The distant horizon really helps anchor the shot, and the sky gives it a wonderful sense of space and vastness.

I think this is awesome.

Cheers

Carl

The perspective gives this shot an edge. That, and the razor-sharp facial features. 8)
