Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Landscapes Gallery, week ending 2nd July, 2010!Otago, New Zealand

One of the most awesome experience in my life as a photographer was to watch the most dismal weather clear at sunset, producing rainbows, coloured clouds then this moonrise. I watched the tide go out and was able to access the beach after climbing down from my viewpoint on a massive rock. For scale the main rock here is about 1 storey high.

Canon 5DMkII, 16-35mm 2.8L, 7 minute exposure.

This is pretty phenomenal, Kah Kit. The streaking clouds are so dynamic and add so much interest to the scene. Composition is well crafted, as usual. This is an all-around winner in my book.

I love it. I don't see any sensor aberrations or noise. Very surreal.

This is a stunning image from a location I thought I knew quite well. I am assuming a very wide shot as I almost didn't recognise it. Great planning to get low tide the same time as those clouds.

Spectacular light, composition and technique... Love the light and the streaking clouds against the blue sky. lYou're not leaving me much to critique, as all I can say is "wow!". :D

What filters did you use on this?

No filters. In fact very little processing at all. In spite of the surreal look and effects of long exposure, the lighting is very much a document of one of those magical moments a photographer is privileged to witness.
