You didn't think I'd let this motif theme go by without posting one of these, did you? :D

Well Bill, thanks for stepping up for the Motif, and what better species than your favorite.

This is one of the best bird photos I've seen in a while.

Wow - what a fantastic shot. It really shows the behavior and the difference in bill curvature between male and female really well.

Just about perfect Bill. Thought of you when I saw the motif coming up. Glad you didn't dissapoint us. Not many images of mating birds out there that folks want to show I guess. Hope all is well in the land of Belmar!! 8) 8) 8)

Oh Bill!! This is perfection indeed! I always think of you when I see an Avocet shot and this one raises the stakes to a higher level.

This is, without doubt, one of your VERY best shots of these gorgeous birds.

Stunning in every way. Congrats!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) :)

I certainly agree with Carol. Your Avocet images are the best that I've ever seen and this one is as good as it gets.....just awesome. I'm still waiting to see my first Avocet.....impatiently, I might add.

Bill,

Beautiful capture. It looks like you're getting larger images of these avocets compared with a year ago.

Bill,

Awesome shot. I like how the female has her head turned slightly toward you.
