St Aug, AF FL

Hey all,

Just back from the AF and off to MN tomorrow AM. It was great seeing all the NSN'ers at the AF. Thanks for all the memories shared. This was taken last night in wonderful light.

1D, 600IS
exposure- spot metered off white highlight plus 1 2/3 comp.

An interesting shot that takes some study to fully appreciate. It does seem to have that C1 yellow shift.

More like the light of late afternoon :wink:

Part of what makes this work is the light being reflected off the spread wing is illuminating the portion that would normally be in shadow.

This is gorgeous Charlie. Love the green in the FG and the wing gives this a cool canapy like effect. The light on her head under the wing is really sweet. Great image.... :D

If this bird was photographed in south Florida rather than at the AF, it could pass as a great blue heron, (white morph) with those whitish legs. (white-wash, I assume).
Nice lighting, nice position. (here is a good example of where cutting off the legs actually strengthened the image, thoughh I'm surprised NO one took points off.)
