A new bird for me. This is one of the few shots I got with the wren in front of the cattails rather than peeking out from behind them.

D70, 600mm f/4 & TC-14E, Gitzo, Wimberley, ISO 200

All comments and critiques greatly appreciated. Thanks

Wrens aren't that easy to get where you want them. Nice shot of him in front of the reeds. Wonderful BG and I love the colors. You and digital seem to be doing well together.

Nice image, Alan.

I'd trade a bit of the room on the bottom for more on top, but that's a minor nit.

Alan, good job getting him in the open. Maybe a bit more sharpening on the bird.

I like the bird high in frame because it gives us a relationship of the bird to being over the water in the reeds. This bird looks very good as is so be easy with any more sharpening; you might try the red channel and a sharpen edges and undo it if when you navigate up you see artifacts.

It's a treat to see these birds for even a glimpse. I'm impressed that you caught him so open. I might take just a bit off the bottom, maybe just below the first fuzz. Really nice image of a bird much more often heard than seen.

Excellent getting it in the open. These little energetic guys are hard to shoot and never stay still for long. You did very well.
