Roseate Spoonbill
Corpus Christi, TX

Another cooperative subject from Corpus. The light was getting pretty sweet when Heather and I started stalking this guy only to have him fly-- right over to where we had been shooting and Steve and Greg were still set up! He did some nice preening for us but no wing flaps, alas.

Canon D30, 500mm with 2x, tripod, no flash. iso200, 1/350 at f/8
Cropped very slightly right and bottom.

Excellant shot, Cindy. The lighting is great and the craned neck is a plus. I also like the partial reflection.

Great light and the soft reflection really adds to the nice pose.

Well done, Cindy.

Beautiful! That is certainly sweet light alright and this is a fine shot. I hope Greg and Steve thanked you for your assistance when you "moved" the bird back to them!

A sweet shot and sweet light. At a time when we are all wanting more megapixels, faster AF, etc. it's amazing to see what the D30 can do with someone who knows what to do!!!!!

Very nice Cindy. You got a lot of mileage out of the one day it didn't rain. ;) Steve and I were just talking about joining you guys for this bird but thanks to you we didn't have to move.

The great light and the reflection in the water is what makes this image great to me. Beautifull shot!
