I like the rich saturated coilors and the light; the BG is confusing and detracts from the gorgeous bird.

I like how the in-focus leafs frame bird. Berry and leaves on front could be more in focus, otherwise this is gorgeous!

Wonderful shot!! I love how the leaves surrounding the bird seem to be cradling him. Maybe a slight crop off the top to take the eye off the centerline. :)

Fine shot, Harvey. I wish the BG were a bit more blurred.

Wish I could just see one of these birds, let alone photograph one. I agree that the saturated colors in this are really sweet.

Harvey, Very fine oriole with the leafy umbrella effect!! I'm thinking an Orchard Oriole would appear more chestnut. Love the mouthful of mulberry!! :D 8)

Actually, I'd be hard pressed to see the difference between the Orchard and the Baltimore. With my ID skills everything looks like an Great Egret to me  However, I was among a whole bunch (of very excited) birders and they gave me the ID. The sunlight makes it look very bright so here's the dame bird at a different location in less intense sun and he's more chestnut.

Wonderful light here. I might be tempted to crop some. The mulberry really puts this over the top!

Cool image. Colorful but a bit soft on the bird. Looks like it was focused on the leaves above it.

The bird and the berry are great. I think I would give up the tail and crop tighter to remove the distracting BG elements. It looks like a vertical crop would work.

Harvey, Thanks for the repost in less light ... clearly you are correct in it being an Orchard Oriole !!! Definitely not a Great Egret! 8)

What.....it's not a great egret? Guess I need to get my eyes tested....perhaps this is grounds for my retirement!!

The colors are spectacular.....and I don't think I've ever gotten that rich of a color out of the 1D.
