Sweet shot. I know the common criticism is "Don't shoot birds going away from the you" But then, how would one see the lovely detail in flight feathers on the top of the wing?

I have no problem whatsoever looking at this side of this particular bird. Great exposure for the feathers. The image may be a little soft and I don't know if it is an optical illusion or what, but it looks like the shot is not level, leaning to the right. That could just be me though. Good job.

Nice one, Peter. The water ripples complement the striations in the feathers.

Nice one! Looks like he is tippy toeing on really slippery footing.

Beautiful capture! I don't mind the bird looking away.

Very nice Peter, you seem to nail quite a few at the, "just the right moment". (Quick on the trigger, you'd do well out West :))

Thanks Everyone

Your critiques clarified some outstanding isuues on what angle a bird flying can be photographeed from and you all were also most encouraging.
