Male Pilaited Woodpecker in Tree Area 200 yeards Behind Bowmans Beach, Sanibel, Florida
I saw the mating from a distance too far to shoot and was disappointed although if I was Woody I would prefer no viewers. I did notice the male didn't fly off and within 30 seconds I had this shot. He stayed another 30 seconds before he flew off. Reach your own conclusions. Canon EOS 3 100-400 IS with 1.4x TC @560mm handheld Aperture Priority F 5.6 at about 1/500th or faster Evaluative Metering -2/3rds Provia 100 F pushed one stop Whites controlled with selection and decreasing brightness Cloned out leaves above head |
