Immature Purple Gallinule (Porphyrula martinica)
Image
I hope my bird id is correct...

Shot at Wakodahatchee Wetlands, Delray Beach last fall.

Canon Elan 7e w/Sigma 50-500 w/Tiffen 812; Kodak Portra 400UC; 550EX w/bb. F/6.3 in Av mode; shutter unrecorded.

Frontier scan cropped from horizontal to vertical in photoshop cs; added neat image noise reduction.

Pete, I believe your ID is correct. This is a great image. I do wish the big leaf was not in the BG and it could go a little darker. Very nice shot.

I'm going to try to clone it out....it's just a big leaf....

Way to go Pete a vary sweet image. Do you have any more room on the left? Would be nice to add a bit. Agree with the leaf Great capture. Congratulations.

The leaf doesn't bother me too much, just the two bright spots on it. I like the droopy wings and overall look of the shot.

Your ID appears to be correct. This works very nicely as a vertical. Could possibly use a bit more contrast.
