warbler migration is just a few weeks away... here's one from last year (some of you may recognize it from the PPLS).

10D, 1-4IS, f5.6, ISO 200, nearly full frame - trimmed a slice of the bottom and right, levels and saturation adjustments - is it too contrasty?

cheers,
-matt

I do like this shot and the lighting actually. I do think it would benefit by cropping some off the left side to eliminate some of the distracting bright reeds.

I like this one alot. A very good motif shot. Extremely sharp where it needs to be.

Excellent motif shot. I love the head turn. :)

The bright yellow bird really catches your attention in this photograph.

Suggestions:

Wait for the bird to look to the left so he/she is looking into the photograph
Crop the image on the top and the left

Very nice, wouldn't crop a thing. I like the bird in the corner office.

Nice contrast of colors, I like the low angle of the shot.

Great motif shot Matt. They started arriving on the Upper Texas coast yesterday.

Very nice shot, Matt. No problem finding the subject here. The head turn really adds to the shot.

The bird is so detailed and colorful the small size makes it even make a greater impact than if it were bigger in frame. The complimentary and contrasting aspects of the BG make this composition very fine indeed.
